All children are artists. The problem is to remain an artist once he grows up
We value creativity and want children to foster and nurture their creative capacities rather than be educated out of them.
We know that intelligence is diverse and we value creative intelligence as much as we value academic achievement.
We have dedicated specialist teachers for Art/Design technology, Music, Drama and Multi-media who work with our pupils on ambitious and impressive projects. We also work with external artists and musicians who visit the school to collaborate with our pupils.
Our pupils create beautiful topic books each term, where they present their knowledge and understanding of their current topic in creative and innovative ways. The children are very proud of their topic books and many take them home to continue working on them. We have also had many successful creative homework projects where children have worked with their families to create topic themed work to share with their class.
Anyone who walks around our school can see how our creative approach has had an impact on our school environment.
We are currently working towards the gold standard for Artsmark, to gain recognition for the extensive opportunities we provide for children to develop the arts in school.
