Mr Cleary and Ms Blaydes arrive in Singapore for maths study tour

Merlion statue in Marina Bay

Downtown Singapore

Beautiful botanical gardens

Sunday in Singapore.

Hello everyone its been a busy day today seeing the sights. This morning we visited the botanical gardens and saw beautiful orchids and enormous tree. Mr Cleary was frightened by the large lizards roaming the park. This afternoon we went to China town for some Dim Sun and then a boat trip down the Singapore river.

Tomorrow the maths begins, with the day at the Institute of Education. We will be spending the day with Dr. Lee. He will explain how they approach the teaching of maths in Singapore before we spend the rest of the week in school.

Please check twitter for regular updates.

Hi Mr Cleary and Miss Blaydes,

We hope you are having a wonderful time. We liked the look of the statue in Marina Bay and we laughed at Mr Cleary being scared of the large lizards.

    4A would like to know:

    1. Are the children in Singapore primary schools as well behaved as Sandringham children (Yusuf)
    2. Do the children in Singapore find their maths learning really challenging? (Ibrahim)
    3. What is different about their maths to ours? (Shaima)
    4. Do the children in Singapore have times tables tests like us? (Sumayya)
    5. Is Singapore similar to London? (Saleh)
    6. What is the food like in Singapore? (Zaiba)

We have loads more questions and are looking forward to your next video.

    From 4A and Mrs Rae
