3A and 3B shared the day in the Art Room making Elephant Hawk-Moths with Bow Artist Miyuki Kasahara. They made them out of clay which will be fired in the kiln at about 1200 degrees centigrade. This means the final results will be stoneware, so hopefully the moths will not be porous and will be able to withstand the weather when they are on the new sculpture. The moth's name comes from the caterpillar's resemblance to an elephant's trunk. It is most common across Britain and Central Europe.
