Sandringham Daycare functions separately to the maintained Nursery and benefits from a highly skilled and knowledgeable team and the school facilities as well as qualified teacher oversight and input.
The Daycare provision is open for school term time only between the hours of 8am to 6pm. This equates to 39 weeks of the year plus 2 weeks optional buy in at the end of August. The Daycare setting is closed for 1 week in October, 2 weeks at Christmas, 1 week in February, 2 weeks at Easter, 1 week in May and 4 weeks in the summer. Both full time and part time places are available.
Children have a high quality daily curriculum which offers both indoor and outdoor learning opportunities nurturing both personal and academic development. All children are allocated a caring, professional key worker who supports the child and parent through the settling period and throughout their time in Daycare. The key worker will regularly communicate with parents and ensure they feel involved and informed about their child's development and wellbeing.
The Daycare is driven by our Daycare principles which underpin our practice and provision. These principles draw upon key educational research and best practice for children aged 1-5 years. They inform on how we settle the children during their induction as well as the play based approach to learning. This ensures we have a values lead provision which puts the children at the centre of everything we do.
